SMS structure for single-use medical masks
Medical masks generally use SMS (spunbond - meltblown - spunbond) composite multilayer structure, the inner and outer S is spunbond nonwoven, English for Spunbond; the middle M is meltblown nonwoven, English for Melt blowing.
The outer layer of medical surgical masks and medical N95 masks need to use non-woven fabric with waterproof treatment, which is mainly used to isolate patients' droplets and blood; the middle of medical N95 masks is thicker meltblown non-woven fabric with good filtration, and the inner layer is ordinary non-woven fabric.
The filter layer of industrial dust masks is also mostly meltblown nonwoven, or HEPA filter paper with meltblown nonwoven as the material.
The filter cotton and electrostatic cotton of the gas mask also use Melt-Blown Nonwovens for Medical Masks, and the high-end dust filter cartridge uses HEPA cartridge.
Specifications and Applications
Melt-Blown Nonwovens for Medical Masks is light and thin, with a grammage range of 15-500 grams per square meter. As a comparison, the T-shirt we wear in summer weighs about 150 grams. The thickness of meltblown nonwoven fabric is important for masks with different filtration levels.
